Upon Reflection

I was anamoured with the reflections throughout the Wilhelmina Pavilions in Amsterdam. But compositionally, this reflection was created digitally in photoshop, and not the natural reflection shown in a similar image on my website. Both the original, and this artifical version, are equally interesting in their own ways.

Obayana (ah bah YAH nah)

Of African / Nigerian origins, Obayana can be translated as"Warms Himself by the Fire" or "King of Fire". After the a stormy day, with the sun having set and the sky's clearing we made a campfire. Focusing on the fire (with the background slightly blurred), an 8 second exposure happen to capture the fire flowing into the sky in a this somewhat ethereal dance.
