Empire State South

Wall Street in the distance as seen from the Empire State Building looking south along Fifth Avenue. Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge see in the distance, center left. For context, Image was taken in 2008 so the World Trade Center Towers are obviously gone, and One World Trade Center tower was not yet completed. Statue of Liberty / Liberty Island, Ellis Island, and the New Jersey shoreline can be seen far image center right.

Williamsburg Bridge

From the Empire State Building, looking generally south, southeast, toward the Williamsburg Bridge crossing the East River. Jacob Riis Housing project can be seen on the Manhatten Island side (this side) adjacent the bridge and rivers edge. The Brooklyn Navy Yard and the New York Sand and Stone yard cen be seen on the opposite shore, roughly midway across the bridge, image center. The New York/New Jersey Bight and Lower Bay can be seen in the distance as the view disappears toward the North Atlantic Ocean.

Urban Fade

The dark foreground of Mahnattan gradually blend to views of the Brooklyn Bridge (right center) and Manhattan Bridge (center) crossing the East River. The scene fades to white as the view extends toward Breezy Point where the sky and North Atantic Ocean eventually blend into one.

Wall Street Skies

Freedom Tower, and the rest of Wall Street, reach for the skies. The cold November skies, and cloudy skies in general, really bring scenes like this to my attention as I wander about anywhere. The Brooklyn Bridge is visible in the distance far right of the scene. States Island and Battery Maritime Ferry Terminals are image center on the waters edge.

Riveting

Foggy morning in Chicago as seen from the Columbus Drive Bridge. Look close image right and you'll see several floors of back in parking in the residential buildings. I'm particularly partial to the wonderfully heavy feel of the bridges and rivets which is why I includes those in the foreground.

I've Gotta Kink In My Back

American Copper Buildings with Empire State Building behind. I liked the contrast of the modern tower with the classic Empire State Building in the background. The scene made me fill like I had a kink in my back :D LOL

Urban Contrast

I enjoyed the visual contrast of the ribs of the Oculus Center with the vibe of the street art on the adjacent buildings. New York is a visual treat with all sorts of contrasts like this.

Plaza Parking

The Plaza in Santa FE, NM, has some terrific olde schoole adobe style architecture and carrying it through to a parking garage is a nice detail. The morning sun always presents some great shadows and textures, and this example the parking garage almost looks like a hotel balcony.

Osteria Marco

Part of a series of 4 images of Larimer Square, Denver, CO. The evening light was just fabulous and allowed me to capture some interesting street scenes of places and architecture that help define this area of Denver. As part of a series, I particularly like this square format. These 4 images would make a great collage. See also Goorin Bros, Bistro Vendome, and The Market.
